Michelle Obama celebrated her 55th birthday on Thursday. Several prominent figures paid tribute to the former first lady's solar return, including her husband, Barack Obama, and Beyoncé.

Both the Grammy Award-winning singer and the 44th U.S. president shared throwback pictures of Michelle to social media.

Beyoncé uploaded a black and white childhood photo of the Chicago native superimposed with the words "BOW DOWN." Although many fans speculated a new project, the phrase and photo style is a reference to "Bow Down / I Been On," an empowerment song from the singer's self-titled album.

Barack posted an image from earlier in his relationship with his wife. "I knew it way back then and I'm absolutely convinced of it today — you’re one of a kind, @MichelleObama," he captioned the image.

Michelle, the cover star of the Dec. 2018/ Jan. 2019 EBONY issue, responded to her husband's moving tribute and thanked everyone who wished her well.

"Thank you all so much for the birthday love," she tweeted. "Feeling so incredibly thankful for my South Side roots, my soul-affirming partner and daughters and every unimaginable twist and turn over these 55 years."
