A Louisiana church with a Black congregation was set ablaze by a White teenager on Tuesday morning.

St. Paul Missionary Church in Richland Parish, LA recently celebrated its 137th anniversary. Now, it’s new sanctuary has become the subject of a potentially racially-motivated arson. But according to the News Star of Monroe, St. Paul Missionary’s community buildings which have been around for decades, remain standing.

The teen, whose identity has yet to be publicized, also stole two utility Entergy trucks which he used to crash into vehicles parked at a nearby high school. He is facing an arson charge which is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

The fire comes nearly a year after a 111-year-old Black church in Mississippi was set on fire and defaced with “vote Trump” signage the day before the 2016 presidential election last November.
