A Georgia mother is upset after she says her son was kicked out of class for no real reason.

WSB-TV reports that Kendra Molden of Lithia Springs, said her 4-year-old son was kicked out of his daycare center after she questioned the Black History Month display on Facebook.

Molden reportedly expressed her frustrations with the display housed at the privately-owned Neighborhood Learning Center, which appeared to celebrate American history more so than Black history.

“It really is a slap in the face,” she told the news outlet. “It didn’t sit well with me.”

The display shows historic African-American icons such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Harriet Tubman, but also features several prominent White figures like George Washington, Jimmy Carter and Walt Disney.

Molden said the teacher who put up the display is Black. She questioned the message Thursday morning and by Thursday afternoon, she and her child were being escorted out of the school.

“They just put it up for this month,” Molden told Willis. “We learn about everyone else’s history 11 months out of the year. We have one month.”

Molden, who says the display is an insult to Black History Month and African-American achievements, said the school never said why they removed her son.

“They never gave me a reason, and I asked several times,” she said.
