Mariah Carey Reportedly Inking Las Vegas Residency Deal
That elusive chanteuse Mariah Carey will soon be way less elusive. The legendary vocalist is reportedly signing a residency deal with a famous resort in Las Vegas, according to E! News. Mimi would join the likes of Toni Braxton, Elton John and Britney Spears, all iconic singers who’ve made a stage in Sin City their second home. She could begin regularly performing sometime this year.
LL Cool J to Host Tonight Show Spin Off Lip Sync Battle
Jimmy Fallon’s popular Tonight Show segment, Lip Sync Battle, is getting its own spinoff, hosted by none other than rap phenomenon LL Cool J. The show (which, for those who haven’t seen it, is exactly what the title suggests) will be aired on Spike TV for a 10-episode run. Fallon, The Office alum John Krasinski and Hello Ladies’s Stephen Merchant are all executive producers who’ll also sync their hearts out on the show, which begins taping this month in New York.
“Like the rest of the world, I’m a big fan of these battles, but this show is going to bring it to a whole new level,” said LL, also a producer of the celebrity competition show. “I’m thrilled to be working with Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski, Stephen Merchant and the entire team to host the show, and can’t wait for the fans at home to join in!”

Wu-Tang Clan Auctioning Double Album Through Paddle8
Now that A Better Tomorrow has arrived, Wu-Tang Clan is nearly ready to take bids on its next project, The Wu—Once Upon A Time in Shaolin. The cryptic double album announced last year is still set for an unorthodox release: a single copy will be sold to the highest bidder. RZA recently told Forbes that Paddle8 will be the official auction house. More info, including perhaps when the music will be up for sale, will be announced via a micro site later this month. The site will contain interviews with RZA, essays related to Wu-Tang, and the tracklist for Shaolin, which currently resides in a handcrafted silver box in Morocco. (Yes, seriously.) Last year, RZA said the group was offered $5 million for the LP.
