Dencia, African Skin Bleaching Queen, Tapped for Light Girls Documentary on OWN

Word is Cameroonian pop star Dencia—ya know, the one who came for Lupita Nyong'o and has been stirring up drama with her skin bleaching sadness—was tapped by the folks at Oprah Winfrey's OWN to participate in their Light Girls documentary. The special is inspired by Bill Duke's Dark Girls and will explore issues of colorism and self-esteem, with a goal to foster "sisterhood" in young Black women. Hopefully, the Whitenecious promoter can ignite some sort of positivity with her story if these reports are true. (Let us pray.)

Russell Simmons and Bill O' Reilly Clash Over Beyoncé's "Partition"

Bill O' Reilly can't seem to wrap his meaty head around the purpose of Beyonce's "Partition," and took hisscripted frustration out on hip hop mastermind Russell Simmons. During a segment of his Fox show Monday night, he asked Uncle Rush why Bey would sell sex in the back of a limousine knowing young, unsupervised "girls of color" emulate her and deal with issues of "unwanted pregnancies and fractured families." (Like he really cares.) The music mogul came to Mrs. Carter's defense, putting the responsibility on parents and calling her work art, but O' Reilly couldn't seem to get over this "exploitative garbage" and her naughty reference to Monica Lewinsky. (But I'm sure he had a good time watching it.)

Pharrell Williams to Release Fragrance with Comme des Garcons

Skateboard P just won't stop making history. He just took home his seventh Grammy, snagged an Academy Award nomination and was the first artist to record a 24-hour long music video. (I bet he's happy he made "Happy.") Now Pharrell will go down as the first musician to concoct a fragrance with the esteemed Japanese fashion house Comme des Garcons. The scent will be called "Girl" to fall in line with his eponymously titled new album, which he dropped March 3. The fragrance hits stores in September, but I have a feeling that one sprints of this spray will have you skipping down the street like those overzealous randoms in his video.
