Rep. Maxine Waters’ determination to rid the White House of President Donald Trump has resulted in death threats toward the veteran politician. Unfortunately, the intimidation tactics keep coming, with someone sending a box addressed to “Anne Thrax” to her district office in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times reports the package appeared Tuesday afternoon. Authorities evacuated parts of the office while assessing the unexplained delivery. A hazardous materials (hazmat) crew then removed the package, which was determined to not be dangerous.

“There was no evidence of any dangerous substance at all,” LAPD spokesperson Mike Lopez told the paper. “They’re probably going to investigate to see where this item came from.”

Waters addressed receiving death threats from Trump supporters last month in a statement to CNN.

“As the President has continued to lie and falsely claim that I encouraged people to assault his supporters, while also offering a veiled threat that I should ‘be careful,’ even more individuals are leaving (threatening) messages and sending hostile mail to my office.

“There was one very serious death threat made against me on Monday from an individual in Texas which is why my planned speaking engagements in Texas and Alabama were cancelled (sic) this weekend. This is just one in several very serious threats the United States Capitol Police are investigating in which individuals threatened to shoot, lynch, or cause me serious bodily harm.”

Waters most recently accused Trump of being Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “apprentice” while appearing on MSNBC’s AM Joy.

“I think he is Putin’s apprentice. He’s been under his tutelage for a long time now. And the Republican Party should be ashamed that they are allowing it to happen.”
