Follow these easy steps to recreate a soft, smoky eye for your big day!
Step 1: Start with a clean well-moisturized face and be sure to apply a good eye cream.
Step 2: Fill in your brows and start your reverse contour. Used here is Make Up Forever’s Pan Stick foundation, two shades darker than the model’s complexion.
Step 3: Follow up with a highlighter. Used here is It Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Undereye concealer in tan. Blend everything with a damp beauty blender to do away harsh edges.
Step 4: Use a beauty blender and blend everything well. Then use a setting powder to set your base. A good option: IT Cosmetics HD setting powder.
Step 5: Prime your eyes. Used here is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. Use the Blackout shadow on the inner and outer corners to create depth, and Pistol on the middle of the eye to make it pop.
Step 6: Use an angled brush to add Blackout to the lower lash line, then line your waterline with a long lasting eye pencil in black.
Step 7: Finish off your look with a peachy blush and nude or soft pink lipstick.
Extra tips on this look:
Understand reverse contour: Typically, many artists will contour and highlight after foundation is done, but I prefer to do a reverse contour. With a reverse contour, the highlight and contour are put on first, followed up with a lighter foundation, like MAC’s Face and Body Foundation. It gives a more natural look without looking overly made up.
Make sure you have the right tools: Grab a Beauty Blender ($19 Sephora.com) to blend out the highlight and contour. For a good smoky eye, use a soft fluffy brush like the Sigma E40 ($16 SigmaBeauty.com).
