Year in School: Senior
Expected Graduation: 2020
During my matriculation at South Carolina State University, I have been an active member of the Student Orientation Leadership Program, Sisters in Stem Network (Vice-President), Health Professions Society, Biological and Physical Science Ambassador Program, Golden Key National Honor Society, SC State Student Media Program, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
My ultimate career goal is to become a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine. I have always had a love for not only the healthcare field but also for helping others. It is my belief that we are not just a representation or reflection of an illness, but we are comprised of the mind, body, and soul holistically. I want to not only help my community, but I want to heal it by returning to my community and providing adequate and competent care to the same community that poured into me.
What is your most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen?:
My most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen is my ability to connect with the incoming freshmen and their families in order to facilitate a smoother transition into college. Out of my desire to create long-lasting change in the black community, I am using my voice and platform to help others to address the challenging mental health stigma in the black community. Encouraging students to be aware of their mental health so that they will embrace counseling and advocate for mental health improvement resources resulting in happier lives and within campus community.
