Cardi B has apologized to Dr. Bernice King after the youngest child of Coretta Scott and Martin Luther King Jr. found the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s comedic portrayal of her mother “repulsive.”

Three years ago, the Bronx spitter filmed several skits for MTV comedy show, Off the Rip. One of which is a parody of the popular Real Housewives franchise entitled Real Housewives of the Civil Rights Movement. Cardi portrays Coretta Scott King, wife of Martin Luther King, Jr., which can be seen here.

Soon after posting the controversial sketch, TMZ reported Bernice King reached out calling the parody “repulsive” and “false.” She also believed its release was horribly timed, as the 55th anniversary of MLK’s March on Washington is next Tuesday.

Cardi has since apologized, with Bernice tweeting that she accepts and appreciates the gesture.
