Twitter announced Wednesday that it plans to open an office in downtown Detroit in the M@dison. Developed by Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert, the M@dison serves as the digital incubator hub for innovative new-economy companies. The office marks Twitter's first location outside of the company's headquarters in San Francisco. The social media giant is ecstatic about the growth, saying that a handful of Twitter employees at the Detroit office work closely with automotive brands and advertising agencies.

"Detroit's emerging mix of automotive and digital cultures made it a natural location for Twitter's newest office," said Adam Bain, Twitter's president of global revenue. "We're excited to work face-to-face with the city's most established brands and happy to play a role in downtown Detroit's digital renaissance." With the blue bird being the word in Detroit, it's only a matter of time before Motor City's revenue renewal begins!
