Superstar producer and actress Issa Rae married her fiance Louis Diame in a private ceremony over the weekend, E! News reports. The couple exchanged vows in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in the South of France on the Mediterranean Coast.
The Insecure star shared the news of her nuptials in a series of beautiful photos on her Instagram and, of course, the caption was hilarious.
"A) Impromptu photo shoot in a custom @verawanggang dress. B) My girls came to help me, but they all coincidentally had on the same dress! They were sooooo embarrassed. C) Then I took a few flicks with Somebody's Husband," Rae wrote.
Rae wore a gorgeous, strapless Vera Wang Haute gown while the groom donned a red Dolce & Gabanna suit. At the reception, she wore a lily white plunging-V, high-split gown, also by the bridal designer.
As EBONY previously reported, Rae got engaged to Diame in April of 2019. Protecting her privacy, Rae decided to keep her relationship quiet.
“I get so much feedback about everything,” Rae told Marie Claire. “The one thing I don’t need feedback on is who I’m sleeping with.”
In March 2019 at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards, Rae's Insecure costars Jay Ellis and Yvonne Orji confirmed that Rae was engaged.
"We're very excited for her," Orji told Entertainment Tonight at the time, with Ellis adding, "We all found out in different ways because we're all on different text chains. We talk at different times, so we all found out at different times in different ways."
Rae and Diame have been reportedly linked as far back as 2012 and have kept a tight lid on their relationship. The couple has appeared on a few red-carpet events over the years which only added to rumors of their status as a couple.
Now that she’s married, Rae has publicly expressed her love for Diame as they begin their new lives together.
