Chaka Khan left fans with mixed emotions following her performance during the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade, and many called out the legend for her rendition of fan favorite “I Feel for You.”
Khan, who also served as grand marshall of the parade, also debuted a new single, “Hello Happiness,” during the broadcast. Some believe the icon’s ear monitors were off, which may have led to the shaky vocal performance. Others simply couldn’t believe their ears. Check out the performance and feedback below.
Fans had plenty to say about the Rose Parade appearance:

Chaka Khan: What Cha’ Gonna Do For Me?
Rose Parade Organizers: Give you a delayed audio feed at 8 AM when it’s 45 degrees out, so you have no chance to give the world a good performance.— Matt Walker (@funnymatt) January 1, 2019

Still, the most loyal of Chaka fans know her diva status can’t be questioned, with one Tweeter sharing, “The gag is Chaka Khan on her worst day is still better than your fave on their best.”
