The media has been heavily spotlighting same sex couples and marriages since President Obama's public declaration of support. This support has extended to DC Comics. As their Senior VP of Sales Bob Wayne recently explained, DC's policy on same sex relationships and marriage “has evolved,” and an upcoming comic book will help show that evolution.
Beloved by both the young and old, DC has had several gay characters in their comics past and present. However, DC Comics has yet to feature a straight character who ultimately comes out of the closet, something that may be occurring very soon. While mums the word on exactly which character will be coming out of the closet, this change will undoubtedly make major waves both in the LGBT community as well as the comic book world.
