Def Comedy Jam gave several young Black comedians their first shot at stardom, with favorites like Martin Lawrence, Chris Rock and Mike Epps all gracing its stage before becoming household names.
This weekend, creator Russell Simmons celebrated the 25th anniversary of the stand-up series with a who’s who of big names in comedy. Dave Chappelle, Tiffany Haddish, Katt Williams, Tracy Morgan and more all attended the hilarious celebration to honor the show that highlighted up-and-coming comics of color who went on to greater things.
