NBA star Derrick Rose will finish out the rest of the season playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Star Tribune reports.

The 29-year-old pro baller will most likely score off the bench for the team as they attempt to make a push for their first playoff docking since 2004.

Jimmy Butler was injured last month and as a result, the Timberwolves have been shorthanded.

Rose, a nine-year vet of the NBA is a former team member of Butler’s, having played with him for five seasons before being traded by the Bulls in 2016.

Tom Thibodeau is now the Timberwolves’ coach, and he led the Bulls and both players for five seasons in Chicago.

The 2011 league MVP and three-time All-Star has undergone four knee surgeries during his pro career.
