Karyn White’s “Superwoman” is a classic of its age, one of the earliest smash hits of the Babyface Era. But Fantasia’s rendition of the 1988 ballad on last night’s Soul Train Awards, during a tribute to Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, left viewers wondering: why didn’t Karyn White get the call? Divorced from super-producer Terry Lewis in 1999, White’s been back on the road lately, touring with Deniece Williams, CeCe Peniston and Kathy Sledge.
