The limited-range of Disney princesses we’ve all come to know will soon be expanded, as the studio has committed to producing a live-action fairytale film centered on an African princess.

Variety reports upcoming Disney film, Sade, will center on the young African girl whose kingdom is threatened by a mysterious evil force and accepts her newly discovered magical powers to protect her people, with the help of the kingdom’s prince.

Film executive Rick Famuyiwa, whose previous works include The Wood, Brown Sugar & Dope, is set to produce. A director has yet to be determined. Tendo Nagenda and Zoe Kent will oversee the project for the studio.

Sade will only be the second Black Disney princess, following Tiana of The Princess and the Frog, in the company’s 95-year history.
