“He didn’t want to hear them, because he was like, ‘I know they’ll be great’”

But Grammy-nominated artist said the message wasn’t about music at all but “trust” because “that’s what love is.”

Fans took to social media to share their condolences and appreciation for Glover, who despite the pain of losing a parent continued with his planned shows. Los Angeles was the last stop of his This Is America tour.

“My condolences to @donaldglover on the loss of your father in the physical,” one Twitter user wrote. “It’s so hard to lose a parent, I’m still grieving the loss of my father & it well over 20 years ago now. Sending strength to get through.”

A fan on Reddit shared similar sentiments. “Near the end you call tell he’s about to start crying,” pharosearth wrote. “Real emotional s**t. he did these last couple of shows through the emotional pain just for us. We don’t deserve a man like him.”

After sharing the news, Glover performed an unreleased song for the crowd. It is unclear whether the song will appear on his upcoming album, which is rumored to be his last.
