Donald Glover is having a great year. The writer, actor, and rapper not only landed a role in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot alongside Zendaya, but his FX dramedy, Atlanta, is currently a bona fide hit on TV. While actors would be happy with killing primetime, Glover just scored an iconic new role.

Star Wars fans across the galaxy are rejoicing at the news that Glover will be grab a light saber and join Alden Ehrenreich in the still-untitled film about Han Solo’s early life.

Glover has been cast as Lando Calrissian, Hans Solo’s friend and comrade. According to StarWars.comthe film will focus on Lando’s formative years “as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld — years before the events involving Han, Leia, and Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back and his rise to Rebel hero in Return of the Jedi.”

The Atlanta star has some huge boots to fill, though, as Billy Dee Williams first inhabited the role of Lando in the global smash hit The Empire Strikes Back. But the film’s directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are confident Glover can pull it off.

“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” said Lord and Miller. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
