As promised, new Drake music has arrived. On Thursday afternoon, The Hip-Hop star debuted new sounds during Louis Vuitton’s SS2018 showing at Paris Fashion Week.
“Signs” delivers a very mellow and familiar Drake crooning over a mid-tempo beat from his go-to producer Noah “40” Shebib. The first track from Drake since his More Life “playlist” project, “Signs” features an ambient intro and rides a Caribbean riddim akin to “Passionfruit” but with a more somber vibe. Drizzy brings his patented swooning to the track on lines like “and I’m taking my time, just wait on me / I can’t say no when you say please.”
“Signs” runs for well over six minutes in the runway clip, though there’s a strong chance that the beat was looped for the purposes of the fashion show. Get your first listen to Drake’s new offering starting at around the 3:30 mark in the video below.
Drake wasn’t the only OVO artist to premiere new music at the storied French fashion label’s latest unveiling. Curated entirely by OVO’s Oliver El-Khatib, the soundtrack to LV’s new collection also featured a brand new untitled song from Toronto-based duo Majid Jordan.
Late last night PartyNextDoor also let loose a new track called “Trouble.” The track is off of Stevie J’s Appreciation 9 mixtape.
