According to news reports, Electronic Arts (EA Sports) apologized for the omission of Colin Kaepernick’s name from one of the songs in the game’s soundtrack. Newsweek reported EA Sports blamed the mistake on a misunderstanding about the rights the company has regarding Kaepernick’s inclusion in the actual game. That song titled Big Bank featured rappers Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, 2 Chainz and YG. YG and Big Sean via social media voiced their displeasure about the omission.
It’s disappointing and appalling @NFL & @EA took @Kaepernick7’s name out of my verse on Big Bank for Madden 19, like it was a curse word. When he’s not a curse, he’s a gift! Nobody from my team approved any of this.

Every year Electronic Arts (EA Sports) releases the Madden NFL games to huge fanfare and Madden NFL 19 is no different. The game has received good reviews so far and is scheduled for release on August 10th. The song Big Bank will be on YG’s album Stay Dangerous slated for release on August 3rd.
Kaepernick thanked Big Sean and YG via social media for supporting him.
Much love brother! Thank you for having my back!✊🏾 https://t.co/yKz3nBMiPb
