Jay-Z To Perform at Tribute Concert Honoring Jean Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol
The Louis Vuitton Foundation is hosting an exhibition in Paris called Basquiat x Warhol. Painting Four Hands. On April 14, 2023, a concert from Jay-Z, sponsored by Tiffany & Co., will also take place. This will be Hova's second performance in several years.
“The exhibition will show these back and forth—a dialogue of styles and forms that also tackles crucial subjects such as the integration of the African-American community into the narrative of North America—a continent in which Warhol was a leading manufacturer of icons,” shared the LV Foundation.
Mo'Nique Files Lawsuit for Unpaid Royalties From The Parkers
Comedian Mo'Nique is suing Paramount and CBS for unpaid royalties from her hit show The Parkers. The breach-of-contract lawsuit was filed under the production company she owns with her husband and alleges that Paramount and CBS “retained millions that would otherwise be contractually due.” A similar lawsuit was filed by writers and creators in the show as well.
Netflix To Release Film Adaptation of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson
John David Washington and Samuel L. Jackson are set to star in Netflix's film adaptation of The Piano Lesson. The two recently performed in a revival the August Wilson classic on Broadway. This film will mark the screenwriting debut of John David's brother, Malcolm Washington, and also star Corey Hawkins, EBONY's 2022 Power 100 awardee Danielle Deadwyler, Ray Fisher and Michael Potts.
