It’s been just over six months since the Biden-Harris Administration took over the reins at America’s most famous address. With new blood in the White House, there have come pushes from the highest office in the country for more equity across governmental entities. Earlier this year, President Joe Biden released an infrastructure plan that calls for more than a trillion dollars in government spending to address such issues as the digital divide, clean drinking water, transportation roadblocks and the impact of pollution on communities of color. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge sees this moment as an opportunity to help bring justice to communities that have long been negatively affected by federal policies.

The former U.S. Representative from Ohio’s 11th District spoke to EBONY reporter Tanya Christian about the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework backed by the President, and what it means to be a Black woman creating change for the community she continues to love and serve.
