Sharaya J is one of the finalists on Season Two of Fox’s The Four: Battle of Stardom, a music competition judged by Sean “Diddy” Combs, DJ Khaled and Meghan Trainor. EBONY correspondent Reina Brown caught up with the eclectic performer on July 24 and asked about her bold fashion choices and what it’s like breaking records on network television.

Sharaya said her experience is “indescribable” and “unmatched” because of the energy and new achievements made on the show. The Hawaiian-born rapper then revealed she participated in a historic music moment. “On the show, we had the first female hip-hop battle on network television,” she told Brown.

Apart from her music, Sharaya has created buzz around her funky outfit choices throughout the series. She mentioned her favorite designers including Alexander Wang, the late Alexander McQueen and Dope Tavio.
