When it comes to pop and R&B divas En Vogue, their style is synonymous with their sound.
In 1992, not only did En Vogue make bold statements with the release of their sophomore album Funky Divas, but their fashion accented the make-up of the girl group and there were two designs, in particular, that struck a chord with culture and now serves as a part of a longstanding history.
Though, their fashion choices always stood out, there was something extremely special about the red dresses the vocally gifted women seduced us with in the music video for “Giving Him Something He Can Feel.” Sultry, classy and oozing with womanhood, Cindy, Dawn, Terry and Maxine painted a picture with their lyrical melodies and enticing look that had fellas losing their cool.
In the uptempo “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” The ladies danced in sequined silver mini dresses while flaunting the fact that dude had zero chances of receiving their love due to his non-committal ways. The look gave us doo-wop chic and glamour.
Up top, the trio – comprised of Cindy Herron-Braggs, Terry Ellis and Rhona Bennett – share the joy felt when their dresses from the aforementioned videos were inducted into the new Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture!
