Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is no stranger to producing incredible television. His hit Starz series, Power, is one if the highest-rated shows on cable television, and the highly anticipated fourth season is set to begin Sunday, June 25. Now the rapper/actor/producer and his G-Unit Film & Television Inc. production company have teamed up with Sony’s streaming network Crackle for a new original drama titled The Oath.
Starring Sean Bean, who played Ned Stark on the HBO smash hit Game of Thrones, The Oath is being described as a gritty, action-packed drama. It will explore a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and defend, and sheds light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join; only a select few make the cut, but once inside, members will do what they must to protect each other from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks.
Bean will portray Tom Hammond, a cop and ruthless leader of a gang who enforces the law. However, after Hammond deals with an undercover FBI agent, he is imprisoned. Upon his release, he tries to move up the ranks once more, even if it means betraying those who were once loyal to him.
The Oath is set to debut on Crackle in 2018; 10 episodes have already been ordered. Aside from Bean, no other cast members have been announced just yet, but we do know that production on the series is set to begin next month in Puerto Rico.
