The fate of the national talent show, America’s Got Talent has been questionable since the big fallout between former host Nick Cannon and the NBC network.

Since Cannon’s departure following remarks he made during a Showtime comedic special where his jokes rubbed some members of the network the wrong way and he felt that he was “threatened with termination”, the show has been playing the Hollywood “host” shuffle when working to replace the versatile entertainer.

Initially the show wanted to follow suit and hire another comedian, but when approaching Marlon Wayans with the gig, he requested more money and well…that didn’t happen. Next up was Brandon Mychal Smith and Tone Bell, but they didn’t quite ‘wow’ some of the top bosses.

After putting an axe on that idea, NBC went the ‘Top Model’ route and landed Tyra Banks as the new host.

The new mom shared the following message with her 13.9 million Twitter followers:

America’s Got Talent crew was uber excited to share the news as well.

America, strike a pose. #AGT has a brand-new host! Welcome to the fam, @tyrabanks!

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier, Cannon was candid about his departure from the show, stating, “The entertainment industry itself [can] compartmentalize you. [People] get caught in a sense of like, ‘You should be happy to be here,’ or, ‘It is the dream job. Things like this don’t come along to everyone.’ But things like that don’t define me.”

One thing is for sure, Cannon’s hustler mentality is evident and he’s managed to carve a successful lane for himself in the entertainment industry. After all, the dude owns an entire network, so it’s without doubt that his bounce back game is on point.
