The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, will be honored during next month’s America Music Awards.

The upcoming tribute will feature Gladys Knight, Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans and musical director Rickey Minor, all paying homage to the legend’s gospel roots at the Oct. 9 ceremony. AP reports the Dick Clark Production will air live on ABC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Franklin died August 16th at home in her native Detroit, MI. The icon won six AMAs throughout her career and hosted the show in 1976 and 1983, according to AP.

Franklin’s niece and executor of her estate, Sabrina Owens, shared this statement:

“When I heard some of the initial ideas for the tribute, I knew without a doubt that this tribute will go down as one of the best in American music.”
