Beyoncé granted a Houston, Texas, teenager’s last wish on Wednesday shortly before her death.

KHOU reports that Ebony Banks died after a lengthy battle with Stage 4 cancer just four days after meeting music icon, Beyoncé.

Banks was being treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the news of her death was released by a staff member on Sunday.

A candlelight vigil was held for the teen Sunday evening at LeRoy Crump Stadium.

Banks’ dream came true when some of her classmates took to social media. The students created the #EbobMeetsBeyonce hashtag in hopes of making the union a reality and it soon went viral.

The movement caught the R&B singer’s attention and the two met via video chat.

On Wednesday, Knowles called Banks via FaceTime and the two spoke privately.

In video of the interaction, Knowles told Banks, “I love you.”

Alief Independent School District students launched the campaign shortly after the district held an early graduation ceremony for Banks. The event was organized by her family, friends and classmates and took place at MD Anderson hospital where she was being treated.

Banks, affectionately referred to as “Ebob,” spent most of her final school year in the hospital after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

Classmates, family members, friends and loved ones said the teen’s biggest wish was to meet the “Lemonade” singer.

“Beyoncé is one of her idols,” Karina Gutierrez, a sophomore at Banks’ school told ABC13 at the time. “She admires her so much, so we’re trying to put that on Twitter and Instagram to get Beyoncé’s attention.”

Banks reportedly hoped to attend college and become a pediatric nurse to help others battling cancer.
