Only a few months from the 2012 Olympics in London, the subway system in the British capital has decided to rename 361 stops to celebrate past participants and other noteworthy athletes. From central London straight to the Olympic stadium, the new map highlights sports figures in a variety of fields, including Michael Jordan, Venus Williams, and Sugar Ray Leonard.

"There were heated debates and a few late changes of heart, but we are happy with the result: dozens of nations represented, all 2012 Olympic sports accounted for, and [Muhammad] Ali and [Michael] Phelps, two of the greatest Olympians of all time, guarding the Stratford gateways to the games," said map designers Alex Trickett and David Brooks in a joint statement. Basketball and tennis players run north to south while swimmers take up most of the central line. Boxers take a large portion of the map as well. The Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Olympics is on July 27.
