It looks like popular movie ticket distributor Fandango is about to have an awesome February, as Marvel’s highly anticipated Black Panther is set to become the sites biggest first-quarter pre-seller ever.

According to the film-based web portal, the new superhero flick is beating out previous Q1 record-holders The Hunger Games (2012) and Beauty and the Beast (2017) and is on pace to become the biggest superhero pre-seller in the sites 18-year history, soon to surpass Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).

The level of excitement that I have for this movie actually moves me to tears. For years, I have watched negative image after negative image be plastered across the tv screen painting black people as thugs, ghetto, violent, maids, mammies, weak, drug addicts, etc. Positive inspirational images or characters of people in media of people who look like me have not be common place. I’ve watched “tokens” be placed here and there but never have I seen mainstream America release a movie where we are seen as Regal. I am inspired and I am proud. I have my outfit. I am ready. And, I will be going to theaters playing this movie several times. Then, I will be buying it on DVD and sitting it right next to my copy of Hidden Figures. #magical #blackpanther #breakingbarriers #positivevibes #blackhistorymonth
