Will Beyoncé Become One of The Avengers?

Beyoncé sung about “Superpower” on her self-titled album, but she might actually show off those heroine abilities on the big screen. Queen Bey is reportedly being courted for a role in The Avengers franchise. “We would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel’s existing catalogue of comic book characters,” a senior Disney executive said, according to The Daily Star. If Yoncé accepts the open invite, she’d reportedly be considered for the roles of Hawkeye, Tigra, Blink or Boom-Boom. (Boom-Boom Beyoncé kinda has a ring to it!) The Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel are slated for 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Lupe Fiasco Sons ‘White Supremacy’ in Open Letter

Well, this sure is timely. Lupe Fiasco took to Instagram this weekend to pen a three-part screed addressed to “White supremacy” in the captions of three photos of the Charleston’s African Methodist Episcopal Church terrorist Dylann Storm Roof. The letter is equal parts blunt and sarcastic, with this great lede “Dear White Supremacy, First of all you are not really that supreme,” preceding some salient points about the hypocrisy of the expression (which Lu renames “White regularity”). Then there’s this great gem: “White Supremacy is a lie White regularists tell to themselves in hopes that they can get a one-way ticket to the top and hope we other colors overhear it.” Pow. It’s totally worth the nearly 1,800 words.

The next heir to Kanye West’s throne will be a baby boy! Kim K. broke the news to the world yesterday, on Father’s Day, that the couple’s second child will indeed be a boy. “You’re such a good daddy to North,” Kim wrote on Twitter. “You will be the best daddy to our new son too!” Mrs. Yeezy announced that she’s with child last month, via Keeping Up with the Kardashians. There’s no word on whether the world will meet North’s gestating sibling or hear Swish, Kanye’s upcoming seventh solo album, first. (The latter is expected to drop in the fall.)
