Ghostface Killah Obliterates Action Bronson in Epic YouTube Diss Clip
Action Bronson might want to protect his neck after taking pokes at his idol Ghostface Killah. The Queens rapper who Azealia Banks once called “a tribute band” appeared on ESPN’s SportsNation earlier this month and spoke about his vocal and stylistic similarities to the Wu-Tang Clan legend.
It started out respectful, then Bronsolino got cocky, commenting, “He’s not rapping like this no more.” When the hosts suggested that Ghostface remix a popular song, Bronson went a little further: “He needs something.”
Well, it’s 2015, a time when literally any slick talk makes its way to its target. And please believe Ghost didn’t let it slide. He dropped a six-minute video yesterday airing out his neophyte with some tough talk and harsh truths. “I gave you a grace period, n*gga. I’m supposed to have destroyed you a long ago,” he said. “You could never f*ck with my pen n*gga. My sword, my blade, whatever you wanna call it, I’m too nasty for you. This is why the f*ck you look up to me and sound like me.” Ghost also threatened to light the portly rapper’s beard on fire and gut him like a pig. Ouch.
Would Action Bronson back down? Yes. He posted an apology on his Twitter account. “When ur wrong ur wrong and I was wrong. I apologized for the comments. I’ll always be a stand up human. Much love.”
Erykah Badu Calls Out Black Eyed Peas for “Borrowing” Her Video Concept
Erykah Badu caught a case of déjà vu watching The Black Eyed Peas’ new video, “Yesterday.” And we get the feeling she’s not the only one. The Peas’ new visual recalls Badu’s memorable “Honey” video, in which the Dallas native recreates iconic album covers (like Nas’s Illmatic and Eric B. & Rakim’s Paid in Full) in a record shop. Will.i.am’s bunch do basically the same thing, depicting vinyl covers like ODB’s Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version and N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton… in a record shop. Oop!
Never shy with the tongue, Erykah took to Twitter to point out the, uh, similarities. “I think THE BLACK EYE PEAS borrowed my idea a Lil lol …” posting links to the two videos. Taboo wrote about the new video on Facebook, leaving Badu’s comments unaddressed. “This song is dedicated to our heroes… the group’s [sic] we looked up to,” he wrote. “This is [our] way of saying thank you.” Uh, think you forgot someone, bruh.
Big Sean Collaboration With Diplo and Skrillex “Coming Soon”
Big Sean might be putting the D in EDM. The Detroit rapper popped up on producer Diplo’s Instagram account, standing between the two halves of Jack Ü (Diplo and Skrillex). But just what were they doing together? Dip captioned the photo “@BigSean x Jack Ü coming soon,” so perhaps there’s new music on the way from the trio. Sean previously rhymed over a Diplo beat as a guest on Wale’s “Slight Work,” while Skrillex has worked with A$AP Rocky, Vic Mensa and Pusha T.
