Jay Z Weighs in on Proposition 47

Californians have a big decision to make on a new initiative coming up this election season in November, and ya boy Jay Z just might have swayed the votes with his input during a segment of his On the Run show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Sunday. Propping on his politician hat, Citizen Jigga offered his opinion on California’s Proposition 47 (an act that would redirect prison funds to the construction of more learning facilities and crime prevention programs): “Prop 47, California: build more schools, less prisons,” he preached, then proceeded to perform “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem).” (Nice plug, but I guess you could never really take away the thug…)

Pharrell and Ariana Grande to Kickoff NFL Season

Now that soccer season is over, I’m sure all you obnoxious American NFL lovers are ready for what y’all believe is “real” football. And who better to kick off this “Happy” time than Mr. Pharrell Williams? (Just as long as he doesn’t perform that song again.) P will touchdown on the CenturyLink Field in Seattle for the opening game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. Little Mariah Carey Ariana Grande will also be there to tackle the national anthem—in a good way. The action takes place September 4 on NBC and the NFL Network. Get those hot wings ready!

Lil’ Kim Raps Comes for Nicki on “***Flawless” Remix

Just when you thought the petty cat-clawing was over between Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim, the original Queen Bee adds her two cents on Beyoncé and Onika’s “***Flawless” remix. (And of course, her two cents involves dragging Nicki.) Apparently Kim thought the Big Booty Barbz came for her throne on her “***Flawless” verse when one of Nik’s multiple personalities rapped, “The queen of rap, slaying with Queen Bey.” Hence, the former Junior Mafia-ette felt the need to defend her title and responded:

“Am I trippin’ or did this ho just say my name? Queen of rap, f**k outta here/Queen’s back, f**k outta here/Time to get this rap b!tch up outta here.” (Sheesh!)

No response from Nicki yet, but I think when you get to the point of popping out babies (especially when you’re dancing near that 40 mark), it’s time to lay the rap guns to rest.
