Kanye West Is Executive Producing Rihanna’s R8 Album

Rihanna is letting Yeezus take the wheel for the recording of her upcoming album, R8. On the red carpet of the Grammys, Kanye West told Time that Rih’s new project is “coming soon,” and that he’s executive producer. ’Ye took the Grammys stage alongside Rih and Paul McCartney to perform the trio’s “FourFiveSeconds,” the lead single to R8.

Producer Detail Basically Confirms Jay Z and Beyoncé Joint Album

Over the past year, Beyoncé and Jay Z have been at the center of a whirlwind of rumors, both plausible and ridiculous. But when it comes to speculation that they’re recording a collaborative album, producer Detail says you should believe the hype. “Me and Beyoncé and Jay Z are actually doing something together this year,” said Detail, before winning his first Grammy when the Carters’ “Drunk in Love” nabbed Best R&B Song. “When you think of Jay and Bey together, you think ‘album.’ You should already know.”

Ledisi “Disappointed” She Wasn’t Asked to Perform Selma Classic at the Grammys

Beyoncé was on both sides of controversy at last night’s Grammys. Sure, she got snubbed for Album of the Year. But conversely, she was also chosen to perform “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”—a song recently revived by Ledisi for the Selma soundtrack. Some believed Ledisi should’ve been tapped to sing the classic record instead of Bey, who took home three gramophones last night.

Ledisi told the AP that she was “a little disappointed” at first, “but I got over that and I had to look at the positive and empower women. We have to empower each other. It’s a great thing. And one day I’ll be on that Grammy stage.” Classy.
