New Rihanna Video Presages Tour w/Kanye Tour?

Kanye West and Rihanna just might be about four, five seconds from hitting the road. A photo with the two superstars’ names intersecting perpendicularly above “TOUR 2015” has many anticipating the possibility of the two joining forces for a concert run this year (and hopefully albums real soon). Azealia Banks Incites Controversy Once Again w/White Facepaint For New Video Shoot

Azealia Banks is quickly etching her name as one of hip-hop’s all-time greatest trolls. The social media provocateur’s latest shenanigan took place last night (February 2) when she Instagrammed a photo of herself wearing blue contacts and pale makeup, with a caption that reads “#whiteface.” After the expected #reacting, she explained that she was becoming an “ice princess” for a music video (presumably for her song of the same name) and then proceeded to serve the offended “crackers.”

“Yall really r hype. This is not white face this is my Ice Princess makeup. Calm tf down LOL,” she tweeted, citing misogynoir—anti-Black misogyny—as the reason her photo was met with a negative reaction while Snoop Dogg’s whiteface photo last year elicited laughs. “You lot are all so easily moved… DAMN.”

Patti LaBelle Will Appear on Fox’s Empire as an Extra-Special Guest

Following a tongue-in-cheek “who is Diana Ross?” quip, FOX’s musical drama Empire will feature a cameo from an all-time great vocalist. The queen, Patti LaBelle, will be making an appearance on the show, as evidenced by a photo posted to Twitter by Debbie Allen. The 70-year-old legend joins an increasingly high-profile group of special guests on the Lee Daniels-directed series, which is rumored to include Snoop, Foxy Brown and possibly Denzel Washington.
