Back in February, rapper Cardi B and singer Bruno Mars announced the Bronx native would be joining the 24K Magic arena tour this fall. Now, after the birth of her daughter, Kulture, Cardi has made it clear she won’t appear because she “underestimated this mommy thing.”

The new mom announced in a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday night. “As of today I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall,” she wrote. “I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. ”

Cardi went on to say that doctors informed her touring wouldn’t be an ideal situation for a newborn infant. “I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road… this decision has been the hardest to make but I have to do what’s best for myself and my baby!”

Bruno Mars sent out a sympathetic message supporting Cardi’s decision to drop out of the show. “Most important thing is you and your family’s health. I know the fans will understand,” he wrote in response to her announcement. “We love you Cardi and we will play Bodak Yellow eery night in your honor. Please give your baby girl a hug from me and a hug on behalf of everyone on The 24k Magic Tour.”

Baby Kulture is Cardi B’s first child with her husband, rapper Offset. She was born on July 10.
