Now this is real life ‘Love and Hip Hop!’ Rappers Cardi B. and Offset are officially engaged! Earlier tonight during their performance at Powerhouse Philly, Offset of rap trio Migos, got on bended knee and proposed to his special lady, Cardi B. The duo, both 25, confirmed their relationship earlier this year after they were spotted coupled up attending a Superbowl party together. The “Bodak Yellow” femcee opened up briefly about her relationship with the ‘Slippery,’ rapper during an interview on Angie Martinez back in March of this year:
“He’s a good person. And you want to know something? [Offset] makes me feel very motivated, and he is supportive of my career.”
During that same interview, Cardi also opened up wanting children by 27, and her fear of marriage after almost getting married to her ex, who is currently incarcerated.
“Marriage is something that is scary to me. Two years ago, I was going to marry [my ex Tommy.] Inside [jail] too. But my friend told me, ‘Cardi, you know that if you guys decide to get divorced, half of your money is his. Or if you guys are still together, and he has a kid, you have to pay the child support.’ And I was like, ‘Hold up, I work too hard!’ But it almost went down!'”
Fast forward seven months later and it appears all that fear and pride has been placed aside! Cardi is officially engaged. From breaking records on Billboard to becoming a power couple with Offset, it’s safe to say that Cardi B. is having the best year ever — and the year ain’t even over yet!
