Colin Kaepernick will be the only one to profit off of his likeness, as the former San Francisco 49er has filed to trademark the image of his face and famous afro, according to ESPN.
A filing from Kaepernick’s company, Inked Flash, appeared on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website this Wednesday after being filed last Friday. Covering all of his bases, the listed intent for the images ranges from shampoo and hairspray to jewelry and lampshades.
The image will also be used to provide, “glasses, workshops, seminars and camps in the field of self empowerment and awareness to properly interact with law enforcement” as well as in association with “production of television shows and films.”
