Common has teamed up with former first lady Michelle Obama to get African-Americans to vote in the country’s November midterm elections.

“Did you know that less than 60 percent of eligible African-American citizens voted in the 2016 presidential election? This undermines our power as a people,” the rapper said in a video posted on YouTube Tuesday. “So I am teaming up with Mrs. Obama and the When We All Vote team. We are working to make sure that every eligible African-American is registered and votes on Nov. 6.”

In August, Obama announced she was joining the nonpartisan voter registration initiative When We Vote to help register voters.
