It’s common knowledge that Black America is not happy with the destructive H&M ad of a black boy wearing a sweater that read “coolest monkey in the jungle”. Since it’s debut, many celebrities have voiced their disappointment in the retailer including TheWeeknd and GEazy publically all endorsements and support for H&M.

Guess they didn’t see that coming? TheWeeknd and GEazy collabs are totally out the window now and that’s a small victory we can totally get behind. Unfortunately, his mom wasn’t as supportive in the H&M backlash. According to sources, the model’s mother, Terry Mango, recently took to social media to address the issue:

“[I] am the mum, and this is one of hundreds of outfits my son has modeled. Stop crying wolf all the time, [it’s] an unnecessary issue here. Get over it.. That’s my son, [I’ve] been to all photoshoots and this was not an exception. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about this… I really don’t understand but not [because I’m] choosing not to, but because it’s not my way of thinking. Sorry.”

Apart from her ignorance, Diddy did jump on board and was rumored to have offered the young model a $1 million #SeanJohn modeling contract.  Diddy shared that “I haven’t reached him yet,” but he did confirm that “Sean John reached out” about a possible deal.
