Director Ryan Coogler confirmed there would be a sequel to box office smash, Black Panther, soon after it’s premiere, and is reportedly in talks to bring Atlanta creator Donald Glover into the fold.

Metro reports Coogler has been in “informal talks” with the “This Is America,” rapper for a possible role in the highly-anticipated Marvel flick.

“Ryan Coogler is currently mapping out Black Panther’s sequel and has written in a number of new characters that movie-goers will be introduced to when it premieres,” a source shared with Metro. “One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by [Donald Glover’s musical alter ego] Childish Gambino. Nothing is set in stone but ‘informal talks’ [are happening] between Ryan, Gambino and reps from Marvel and Disney to see if they can make it happen.”

Glover revealed to ET that he and brother, Stephen Glover, actually made minor contributions to the first film, saying they were asked to re-write and add a few jokes to the script.

Sources claim Gambino would likely play “some kind of villain,” as Micheal B. Jordan’s Killmonger was killed off. Still, there’s a chance Jordan could reappear. After all, this is Marvel.

“They’re still yet to decide if Michael B. Jordan will return in some capacity but if he doesn’t it’s likely Gambino may play some kind of villain.”

Black Panther soundtrack curator, Kendrick Lamar, also inquired about possibly playing a villain in the sequel, but there have been no further reports of talks between the Compton MC and Coogler or Marvel.
