Drake's massively covered song "Marvin's Room," which appeared on his platinum-selling effort Take Care, has come under fire from an unlikely source—his ex-girlfriend. (Well, alleged girlfriend.) Ericka Lee is revealing herself to be the muse that the rapper drunkenly sings "You could do better" to on the successful song. The woman is now taking legal action against the man born Aubrey Graham for excluding her name from sharing co-writer royalties.
The lawsuit was filed last Thursday (Feb. 2nd) in California federal court, and in the documents she claims the two had a "romantic and business partnership between early-2010 and mid-2011." Last year, Drizzy allegedly agreed to work with Lee on "Marvin's Room," and split the proceeds, but was instead offered 2% for her contribution to the project. Similar to the situation with Jay-Z and Kanye West's debacle with legendary singer/songwriter Syl Johnson, Drake's neglecting to properly compensate another artist seems to be a pattern only reserved for the greats in the music industry.
