Empire, the breakout Fox hit, has returned and brought the deliciously dysfunctional Lyon family with it.
From the looks of the social media universe, all eyes were glued to their screens Wednesday night to see if patriarch Lucious would be sprung from lockup; or if Cookie—the estranged wife he can’t get enough of—will continue her hostile takeover attempt with youngest scion Hakeem; or if middle son Jamal will buckle in his new role as the head of Empire Records.
Well, questions were answered quickly in the first few minutes as Cookie addressed a crowd of thousands with a very relevant #BlackLivesMatters-esque speech.
We won’t spoil the episode for you if you haven’t seen it, but here are some of the hottest tweets of last night’s season two debut.
