Four outstanding works by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, one of the world’s leading modern dance companies, will come to the big screen on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 pm EST as the second installment of Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance. Designated by a U.S. Congressional resolution as a vital American “Cultural Ambassador to the World,” the Company will perform its beloved signature work, Revelations, the American dance masterpiece created by founder Alvin Ailey. Audiences will also get to see three additional dynamic pieces showcasing Ailey’s diverse repertory: Chroma by Wayne McGregor, Grace by Ronald K. Brown, and Takademe by the company’s Artistic Director Robert Battle.

Produced by Lincoln Center and presented in association with Fathom Events, Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance brings spectacular dance performances by four of America’s leading dance companies to approximately 600 movie theaters throughout the U.S. in fall and winter of 2015. The first program, on September 24, was San Francisco Ballet’s Romeo & Juliet. The series is hosted by LIVE with Kelly and Michael stars Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.

Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance programs are recorded in HD by the multi-Emmy Award-winning team responsible for Live from Lincoln Center broadcasts on PBS, led by Andrew C. Wilk, Executive Producer. Each screening will include extra features such as interviews with the companies’ principal dancers and informative segments that will provide an inside look at the productions.
