H.E.R. is special.
So much so that any musical offering, whether it be visual or audio, is a gift to fans, friends and the like. The enigmatic singer recently shared the video for “Every Kind of Way,” a standout track from her recently released H.E.R. Vol. 2 EP.
The sentimental video finds the singer still hidden in the shadows while lying in bed with a lover. “I wanna love you in every kind of way, ” she sings. “I wanna please you, no matter how long it takes / If the world should end tomorrow, then we only have today / I’m gonna love you in every kind of way.”
After a steamy shower scene, the couple heads to the arcade where neon lights make their passion seem almost tangible. Through it all, H.E.R. maintains her anonymity. The video ends with the singer turning toward the camera but the clip ends before her face is seen.
In addition to the video, she also dropped “2,” a new track from her upcoming Vol. 2: The B Sides, which is due out October 20. Ever-transparent, H.E.R. opens up about her infidelity. “I was with a better you,” she sings. “While you were busy playing me, I was playing you too.”
The artist will be hitting the road next month on her The Lights On Tour, which kicks off on Nov. 5. Tickets sold out within 10 minutes, but new dates may be added soon. In the meantime, check out the clip above and new track below.
