“The lyric explores why love is the greatest of all things,” says jazz pianist Jon Batiste, discussing “Let God Lead,” the premiere single from Jon Batiste and Stay Human’s upcoming Social Music (due October 15). “The music is a synthesis of Mardi Gras Indian tribe music and cinematic film music. I composed it one night when we were performing in the streets of Manhattan. I was suddenly inspired. All of the parts came to me at once.”
