Samuel L. Jackson in a buddy comedy thriller where his character can’t stand the other character is cinematic gold in our opinion. In the upcoming film, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Jackson stars opposite Ryan Reynolds as Darius Kincaid, one of the world’s most notorious hitmen. Reynolds’ character Michael Bryce, the world’s top protection agent, is called upon to protect Darius who also happens to be his mortal enemy. It’s like Lethal Weapon updated for the 21st century and with a lot more stunts, and blood.

The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their raucous and hilarious adventure from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator (Gary Oldman) who is out for blood. Salma Hayek joins the mayhem as Jackson’s equally notorious wife.

Seriously, from the weaponry to the swearing, everything about The Hitman’s Bodyguard is just a reminder of why we adore Samuel L. Jackson. We are secretly crossing our fingers that Jackson and Reynolds loved working together on this film. How amazing would it be for Jackson’s Nick Fury to make a cameo appearance in Reynolds’ Deadpool 2? It would literally be everything that we could have ever dreamed of.
