Looks like 2018 is kicking off with #BlackGirlMagic early! Earlier today it was revealed that media personality Hoda Kotb replaced Matt Lauer as the permanent host of the Today Show. Back in November of last year, Hoda had been giving the role of interim host in light of Lauer’s on-going sexual allegation investigation. Now she will be joining Savannah Gutherie as co-anchor of the popular two-hour morning program.

And FYI, the new position makes Kotb and Guthrie the first female-only anchor duo in Today Show history. YASSS!

The official Instagram page of the the NBC program gave Hoda a warm welcome:

Along with her new position, Hoda will continue to also join Kathy Lee on their show, “Kathy Lee and Hoda.” After over 30+ years in the industry, it’s safe to say that Hoda has earned this! Congrats to Hoda Kotb for killing the news game!
