British actor Idris Elba was cast for the lead villain in Hobbs and Shaw, the Fast and Furious spin-off starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham, according to Variety.

Elba is reportedly in the final stages of his negotiation for the role. He will join Johnson and Statham, who are reprising their respective roles as U.S. Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs and former criminal mastermind Deckard Shaw. The film will be written by Chris Morgan and directed by David Leitch.

The wrestler-turned-actor welcomed Elba to the cast, writing, “He’s a baaaaaad man… Every hero is only as good as their villain.”

Filming will begin in the fall. Hobbs and Shaw is scheduled to open in theaters July 26, 2019.
